Dr. Sylvia Oliver Padgett

Dr. Padgett says hello from Antarctica January 2005.

     Dr. Sylvia Oliver Padgett graduated from Tuskegee University's School of Veterinary Medicine in 1993. Her compassion and caring for animals started at the age of 4 when she could not save her dog after being hit by a car.  Dr. Padgett felt helpless because all of the love that she had would not bring her dog back.   She vowed that one day, she would be able to help all the little dogs, cats and small mammals.

Dr. Padgett is licensed to practice medicine in Alabama, Georgia, and Texas.  She has completed an internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Tuskegee University's School of Veterinary Medicine. She has worked in private practice in Dallas, Texas as well as worked for the ASPCA of Texas.  She also volunteers her time and efforts in the Small Animal Medicine Department at Tuskegee's School of Veterinary Medicine in Tuskegee, Ala.  For the past three years, she has worked as a relief veterinary in the Metro Atlanta area and Dallas, Texas.

Dr. Padgett has served on different boards throughout her career.   She has served on Tuskegee University's Veterinary  Alumni Board.  She was also the editor and secretary of the Greater Atlanta Veterinary Medical Society.

Dr. Padgett has a passion for animals.  She currently has four cats named Monty, Sagwa, Ruby, and Virgil.  She has four dogs named Chip, Chase, Lexie, and Felix.  Dr Padgett even has a chicken named Missy.  She gathers fresh eggs for her friends and family everyday.  Dr. Padgett is married and has three wonderful children.
